Andrew J. Graham phonographic notes 1858-1862

Andrew Jackson Graham (1830-1894), author and teacher of stenography, developed the Graham shorthand system, founded the A.J. Graham Company in New York City, and started The Student Journal. Collection consists of Graham's phonographic shorthand notes on court cases, 1858-1862, particularly the case of Johnson v. Root, tried in the United States Circuit Court in Boston (a case related to an alleged infringment of patent for a sewing machine.).
